KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Senior defender Jeff Lenix (Westerville, Ohio) was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-Mid West Third Team, the publication announced Thursday.

The most decorated defender in Marshall soccer history, Lenix's accolades continue to pile up with the addition of his third team selection. Lenix started 19 games for the Herd and finished with a goal and two assists on the season. Despite being used primarily in the backfield, Lenix still showcased his explosiveness with his relentless offensive attack. Lenix's assignments usually consisted of shutting down the opposing teams top offensive threats, but his speed and versatility allowed him to be a major threat on both ends of the field for the Herd all season long.

Lenix's defensive performance garnered him his third-straight C-USA second team award and he was also named to the Marshall Classic All-Tournament Team. Lenix guided the Herd to its second appearance at the C-USA semifinal after an upset over the third-seeded Kentucky Wildcats.

Lenix finished his career with three goals and six assists in over 63 games. Lenix missed his first career game, Sept. 2 with an injury and only missed seven starts in his four years at Marshall.
