Women's Golf Leads First Market Bank Intercollegiate Following Opening Round

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Following the first day of the First Market Bank Intercollegiate, the Marshall University women's golf team stands in first place, three strokes ahead of Bradley University. Marshall shot a 305, +17 on the first day of the two-day contest while Bradley shot a 308 in the opening round. Three Thundering Herd golfers find themselves in the top seven, led by Kristina Garrett, who shot a 73, just one over par. She was followed by Andrea Grier, who shot a 74 and stands in sixth place while Larie Lynch shot a 75, good for seventh place in the opening round. Molly Ginger and Whitney Wolejko round out the Marshall golfers and are tied for 52nd and 64th place, respectively. Bari-Lynn Erais of Bradley and Chelsea Curtis of Georgetown shot the top rounds of the day, each finishing with a 70, two strokes under par.
Tomorrow, the team will play 18 holes in the second and final round of the tournament, beginning at 9:30 a.m.
