Women's Soccer Earns NSCAA Academic Team Honor

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The Marshall women's soccer team earned its 10th consecutive National Soccer Coaches Association of America Academic Team Award since its inaugural season in 1998. The Thundering Herd's Academic award was for the 2006-07 academic year and its 3.34 collective grade point average. "The credit goes to the girls for continued hard work and success in the classroom," Marshall head coach Chris Kane stated. "The academic consistency since the beginning season is good for the program." The NSCAA requires the program to hold a 3.0 or higher cumulative grade point average for that academic year. The Herd placed themselves with 298 other women soccer national programs and 113 men national program who also received the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2006-07 academic year.
